Viernes, 9:15PM: Encontramos un perro echado en el suelo, a la altura de un retorno bastante peligroso en el Periférico al cruce con Mariano Otero. Por la ubicación se veía que el perro había abandonado cualquier esperanza de cruzar la calle. A diferencia de otras ocasiones, decidimos ser el alguien de "alguien más lo ayudará". Fuimos al apartamento por una toalla vieja y regresamos. Cual película de Hollywood detuvimos el tráfico atravesando el carro en la calle y luego logramos subir el perro al carro. La operación completa no tardó ni dos minutos. Es un labrador de color negro, con algunos años y aparentemente callejero pero bien alimentado (por su peso, unos 6 kilos), es perra. Luego de sacarla del apuro en que se metió y de verificar que no tenía collar entramos en razón... "y ahora?". Pues a buscarle un refugio o algún sitio dónde dejarla. La llevamos a un veterinario que le revisó su pata delantera izquierda, afortunadamente no nos cobró la consulta y afortunadamente la perra sólo tenía un golpe. Pero el médico no supo a dónde referirnos para llevarla. Total, luego de que las buenas intenciones se cansaran decidimos ubicarla en un parque a dos cuadras del apartamento, donde estuviera segura al menos durante la noche... estaremos buscando a dónde llevarla si es que el Sábado no se ha ido de la zona. Ya llevamos un par de horas "googleando" pero es deprimente que no haya información sobre sitios a dónde llevarla... sumando a esto que es Sábado, pocos teléfonos han sido de ayuda. Falta que haya un poco más de conciencia al respecto. La mayor satisfacción es saber que al menos no murió como tantos otros perros en la mitad de una calle.

Friday, 9:15PM: We found a dog sitting on the floor, over a really dangerous street crossing by Periferico and Mariano Otero. Due to the location, looks like this dog had lost any hopes of crossing the street. As a difference to other times, we decided to be that somebody in "somebody else will help him". We went to our apartment to pick an old towel and came back. As in a Hollywood movie, we stopped the traffic by blocking it with our vehicle and were able to pick it up from the floor and bring it into the car. The whole thing did not take longer than two minutes. It is a little older black labrador and apparently living on the street, but well feed (weight in some 6kg/12pounds), it is a she. After taking her out of the mess she got in and verifying she had no collar, we came to think "now what?". Well, try to find a shelter or some place to leave her. We took her to a veterinary to get her front-left paw checked, fortunately he did not charge us and fortunately the dog was ok. But this physician had no clue as to where to take this dog to. After all good intentions vanished, we decided to place her on a park two blocks away from home where she could at least spend the night... we will keep looking if she has not left this area today. We have been googling for a couple of hours, but is really a pain in the butt that there is little/no information of places where we can take her... add to this that it is a Saturday and a few phone numbers have been of help. There is a lot of work to be done in this area. Our only satisfaction is to know that at least she did not die in the middle of the street, as many other dogs do
